Dynamic Boards

It was interesting making Dynamic Boards using the Boardmaker program. While it facilitates better communciation, I think using the dynamic boards also develops higher thinking skills as the levels lead them to use categories of information. The skill of making choices is also developed. With better communication, you could see how it would have a snowball effect in developing a feeling of more competency and better self-concept.
I think the ITouch as a dynamic communication board has such exciting possibilities. It is definitely an example of UDL! Thanks for the updates on Ben's use of this technology!

  1. I was amazed by the Itouch and all the things that it can do to help students in our system. We joke that Barb needs to do a commerical for them, but I think she should, to give hope and possibility to those who could benefit, or a loved one, but may not know it!

  2. The iTouch and Ben's experiences with the Proloquo2Go is amazing. I believe that providing an effective form of communication to a non-verbal person is extremely powerful. In Ben's case, I can just imagine all the things he must of thought over the last six years that he can now share in real time. The introducation of the system I think would almost be overwhelming!
